Colorado Students Use STEM to Solve ‘Crime’

Sixth graders compare “crime scene” photos Nov. 6 during a Crime Scene Investigation Camp-for-a-Day at Falcon Middle School in Falcon School District 49. Nearly 100 students from sixth and seventh grades participated in the CSI camp, an event focusing on inquiry and project-based learning to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills. The Caruth Institute for Engineering Education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas creates and coordinates the curriculum, while partnering with the Military Child Education Coalition. Funding is provided by the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, Va.
