Colorado School Honors Former Teacher, Fallen Airman

Linda Ambard receives a piece of the ribbon she just cut from Mike Patterson, school crossing guard, Aug. 13, after a scoreboard dedication ceremony for her late husband, Air Force Maj. Philip Ambard, at Stetson Elementary School in Falcon School District 49. Philip Ambard frequently substituted for his wife when she worked as a physical education teacher at the school. During the 2010-2011 school year, he deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan. He died April 27, 2011, of injuries from small arms fire at the North Kabul International Airport.
